Team & Fundraising Commitment

Applications will be received and reviewed on a rolling basis. Should your application be chosen for next steps, you will be contacted by email to confirm a phone interview.  Accepted applicants will be notified via email within one week of the phone interview.

Partnership Expectations

It’s an honor to be included in the New York Road Runners Charity Program. As such, it’s important that everyone respect the process, expectations and terms of engagement. The expectation is everyone will do their part to ensure success for all parties.

Brass Tacks

The bar has been set high with a fundraising commitment of $3000 per runner. We ask you to give your fundraising plan careful consideration in order to make the most of your experience. Our staff will support your training and fundraising, but the responsibility for the full commitment lies with each runner.

The Application

Please complete the online application in full, or download and return via e-mail to: gail@titleixgirls.org, by Wednesday, April 3, 2019. A credit card number, valid through December 2019, must be submitted with the application in order to be considered. You may be contacted to discuss your application. All information shared on this application or in any interview will be handled confidentially.

Fundraising Commitment & Schedule

If you are selected as a member of the 2019 Title IX Girls Marathon Team, you are committing to raise at least $3,000 (the "fundraising commitment"). Fundraising can be done online with CrowdRise, and/or offline with checks and cash. Title IX Girls expects each team member to adhere to the following fundraising timeline:

  • On the day you are accepted a $50 application fee will be charged to your credit card and will go toward your fundraising commitment. For clarity, the application fee will not be charged unless and until you are accepted by Title IX Girls to join the Title IX Girls Marathon Team.

  • 25% of the minimum fundraising commitment due by Wednesday, June 12, 2019

  • 50% of the minimum fundraising commitment due by Wednesday, July 24, 2019

  • 75% of the minimum fundraising commitment due by Wednesday, September 4, 2019

  • 100% of the minimum fundraising commitment due by Monday, October 21, 2019

All donations will be credited to your fundraising commitment once the funds are received and processed by Title IX Girls. Any balance due in order to reach your fundraising commitment per the above schedule, will be billed to your credit card on the fundraising due date set forth above.

Many companies match employees’ charitable contributions. You can check with your employer to see if your company has this program and you can also ask donors if their employers match gifts. Many companies issue matching gift checks quarterly or semi-annually: therefore, if you plan to use a match to reach your committed amount, it is your responsibility to contact the matching company to ensure the check will be issued before the due dates listed above. If the company’s match cycle is past the fundraising due dates, or for some reason, Title IX Girls Marathon Team does not receive the matching gift funds prior to the due dates, the match cannot count towards your commitment, but the match will still be accepted by Title IX Girls and contributed to its general fundraising goals.

By submitting the application, you agree to the following:

  • I understand that after April 3, 2019, I am solely responsible for raising or personally giving the entire fundraising minimum, even if for any reason, including injury, I am unable to run in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon.

  • I understand that any donations received by Title IX Girls Running Club on my behalf are non-refundable.

  • Any legal expenses incurred in the collection of funds will be the sole responsibility of the runner.

  • I agree that I will not begin the race prior to the official start time; I will not compete in a manner that, in the judgment of the race officials, interferes with race operations or other participants; I will not reproduce or transfer my official bib number.

  • The entry must be used by the person who utilizes the number and may not be transferred, sold or auctioned to another person.

Register & Train

I agree to pay all applicable Marathon processing and entry fees charged by New York Road Runners in connection with registering for the Marathon. Race registration fees are $255 for NYRR members, $295 for non-members, and $358 for non-U.S. residents.  I understand that this does not count toward my fundraising commitment for Title IX Girls Running Club.

Still game? Good. Complete and submit the application. Good Luck!
