Kara joined Title IX Girls Running Club in August 2017 as a coach in West Cambridge, and then in August 2018 as the Program Manager. In her role as the Program Manager, she is responsible for overseeing the program and continuing to build relationships within the Cambridge community. Prior to Title IX Girls Running Club, Kara worked at Transition House, a non profit organization that works with survivors of domestic violence, for six years.
Kara brings a mix of direct service, operations and development experience to the Title IX Girls Running Club team. Her passion for empowering young girls and working on the ground in her community is what keeps her motivated and excited to do this work.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Kara moved to Boston in 2010 and is a graduate of Northeastern University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Outside of work, Kara enjoys running, traveling and spending time with her cat, Blitzen.
